We are back for Part II of our conversation with Naida Rutherford, Richland County Coroner in South Carolina. This time we are digging deeper into her role as a coroner and her experiences from her time in office. We also chat about the path she took to be elected in a state that has historically been stuck in the ways of the past.

To start us off, Naida shares a story from her time in the ER. It truly speaks to her tenacity and her drive to do what is right for her patients and the people whose lives she’s touched. She stood up for a patient in a big way and saved her life.

We then move into her campaign to become the most recently elected County Coroner and her triumphant victory over a five time incumbent. The victory was made even sweeter as she shares more about her state and the truly historic nature of her win.

Naida leaves us with some amazing words of wisdom for anyone who is struggling through what may seem like insurmountable odds. You are not alone. You are not the only one dealing with your situation. Keep going. Keep fighting. You will find the light at the end of your tunnel.
